It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  A sketch designed by yours truly!

I started by stamping the flower image in sahara sand and then adding the purple and greens to it.  I die cut the image using my stitched nested labels and also die cut one in perfect plum.  I wanted just the strip of purple to help the image to pop off the vanilla card base.

I added a bit of pattern paper, a fancy bow paper clip and my sentiment before adding some pearls.

I started with some fall themed pattern paper and adhered to the white card base.  I die cut two double stitched circles from shaded spruce and white.

I added the sentiment and then did an acorn punch with a button and some twine.  Finally I added some bling and was done!

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  We have a fun sketch for you to try!

I started with a doily stamp out of lemon lime twist ink and then added the sentiment.  These stamps are from Close To My Heart Love Doily and I have had since at least 2015.

I die cut the card front and the lemon lime twist card stock using my MFT pierced squares.  Then I added the twine and a bow to take the place of a button!

It’s time for a new As You See It Challenge!  It’s a sketch challenge and I loved the sketch.

I went super clean and simple by using my sentiment as the line and sentiment.  (does that make sense? lol!)  I added three birds to sit on part of the swoop in the serenity image.

My card is one layer and I used my linen impression plate for a bit of texture (naturally!).

Today, it's welcome to not only a new challenge at As You See It but the start of a new way of doing things. With the retirement of Amanda, our Designer Emeritus, the crew is taking on the task of designing the weekly challenges on a rotating basis. In addition, we've decided to use a regular rotation of six styles of challenge. In future, you'll be seeing a sketch, a colour challenge, a fill-in-the-blank, a recipe (where you're given ingredients you have to use), a theme and finally a speed challenge. Then back to the beginning.

Our team leader, Heather, has started the ball rolling with this sweet sketch challenge.  I love a great sketch so I set to work making a retirement card.

I started with a base of delightful Dijon.  A bit of travel themed paper backed with tranquil tide kept with the retirement theme.

I stamped the travel trailer directly on the Dijon and backed it with a bit of tranquil tide as well.  Finally I used my washi tape dies to create a sentiment and was done.

I started with a base of vanilla cream that I ran thru the linen plate.  Then I added a half circle of pear pizzazz and the silver thread. 

I added the flagged pattern paper and finally the sentiment on a wonky die cut.  I couldn’t resist the sweet butterfly and string of rhinestones [which look really blurry here and I could not get a good pic without that happening - sorry about that!]

I started with some antique looking papers from my stash and used a curved die to create the two layers for the sketch.

Then I added some lace and adhered everything to the card base.  Finally, I added the sentiment and pearls and popped up on the card.

It’s a new challenge at Retro Rubber and it’s one of my favorites!  Tic Tac Toe!  I am loving those more and more!

I opted for the top row of dies/sparkle/stars.  I die cut several stitched stars out of blueberry bushel, pineapple punch and granny apple green.  A weird combo of food themed paper names!

I added the sentiment from my PTI belated birthday sentiments from 2015.  I ran everything through the linen impression plate and then added the bling.

A fun new sketch challenge is at hand at As You See It!

I started with cutting some pattern papers and backing them with island indigo cardstock.  I placed the papers according to the sketch.

Then I stamped my sentiment and backed it with a bit of pattern paper.  I adhered it to the paper and added a bit of silver ribbon and a button.

Finally a bit of bling and island indigo dots.

It’s a new challenge at Retro Rubber and we have a surprise for you!  We are partnering with Try Stampin’ on Tuesday!  We are using their sketch and pairing it with our requirement to use stamps older than a year.  This is double the fun! You can link up your entry with both challenges. 

I love a good sketch and this was a fun one!  I pulled out my W+9 Punny Produce: Peaches from 2014 and set to work.  I stamped the peach in black, peach parfait and pear pizzazz before die cutting the mini scalloped square.

Using my flag dies from Reverse Confetti, I die cut flags in some plaid and solid paper and stapled them together instead of running the flags across the top.  Then I popped up the mini square and added the sentiment!
