It's A Beach For AYSI...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  It’s a speed challenge with an outdoor theme.

#295 3.24.23

I pulled out everything I needed and got started.  I stamped the image in crumbcake on my card base and then colored using alcohol inks.  I ran the card front and base through my linen plate.

I die cut with my deckled edges, adhered the ribbon to the back and then to the card base.  I added some dots and pearls and was done.  Surprisingly, I had 1 minute and 18 seconds left.

I added some sweet sorbet twine for a pop of color and layered everything up.  I was planning to add some bling but ran out of time as I was putting the last layer on the card.  Thus – I ended up with 0 seconds left!

Staying Dry For AYSI...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  It’s a speed challenge to stay dry.

#271 3.25.2022

When I saw the challenge, I ordered this sweet house mouse stamp to use.  I also knew I was going to spend a lot of my time coloring.  So I did a bunch of dry runs by stamping and timing myself coloring.  I got it down to just over seven minutes for the image.  I did that by lining up the markers in order of use and keeping the caps off.  (I hope I didn't break the rules by doing that!)

I always keep a ton of white cardstock prepped and ready for card bases.  So I grabbed one of those and a stitched circle die cut that I have had in my scrap white paper for some time.

I had a scrap of pattern paper that I used to draw my colors from and just had to adhere and cut off the extra.  I looped some twine and added the image.  I was just pressing down on the sentiment when the bell rang so I considered that a win.  I only timed myself with the coloring so the rest was going to be up to chance and I got lucky enough to get the sentiment on, as I had saved that for last.

This was a fun challenge and really made me think up hacks to get a nice card done in the allotted time.

It’s a new year and a new challenge at As You See It!  Not only did the year start over, but we refreshed our website with a cool new banner and challenge images!  The challenge today is a speed challenge (i.e. 10 minutes) to use your scraps.

#241 1.8.2021

Well, I have lots of scraps and they are organized with my cardstock so I just had to decide on colors and what kind of card I was going to make.  I opted for a thank you card that is going to my lovely aunt.  She recently wrote a memoir and gifted a copy to me.  I was happy I made the short list of her favorites and even happier to read the book!  I learned so much about her life!  She is a vibrant lovely person whom I adore!  Love you Aunt MaryAnn!

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 241 1 (640x506)

I stamped my sentiment and then added some scraps of blue around it.  I die cut the sentiment and then layered on some stripey pops of color.  Easy peasy!  I hope auntie loves my card as much as I love her book!

Time left:  surprisingly 2 seconds.  Honestly, it seemed like it took less time than that!
