We Three Ships...

Today’s card was made for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge. And it caused great debate over what I should call this post – We Three Ships or Sail On. You can see what I decided on above – lol!

I am calling these ships The Nina, The Pinta, and the Santa Maria. I remembered the names but had to google them to double check myself. It’s amazing what information sticks in your head from grade school! I believe my teachers would be proud!

So I die cut these ships and placed them on a wave that I cut out of a larger piece of beachy paper. I added the sentiment and was done with my card. Thanks to the Commodores, my earworm is Sail On. Go forth and sing my friends!

Retro Rubber Challenge #44 part two...

Welcome to the second week of the Retro Rubber Challenge! It’s all about color – aqua and lime green to be exact. Aqua = water and lime green = Rio. I am continuing my Olympic theme by basically finding a way to make every card I post this week relate to the Olympics!

RRCB 44

This card actually relates really well – with a beach towel! I started by using some distress inks to water color some sand. Then I attached different colored stripes to a white card base and added a mixture of twine for the fringe.

I did a bit of scoring on the beach towel, added a little wink of stella on the sand (it’s hard to see) and some bling. This would be a perfect little towel to use at the Copacabana beach that I keep hearing about. Every time they say Copacabana – I start singing the song!

And speaking of little towels – I think this one is about the size that the synchronized divers were using! It’s your turn! Be sure to play along with the challenge and link up your card HERE!

Retro Rubber Challenge #43...

Welcome to a new challenge at the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog! We have a fun anything goes with a summer theme this time! Just use anything summer and you are good to go!

RRCB 43

I opted to use this fun set from Lawn Fawn called Happy Summer. I have had it for a couple of years and have never used it!

I stamped the ants and sentiment. Then I added the watermelon and colored in with markers. I am using the sketch from this week’s CAS(E) this Sketch challenge to put it all together.

I added a bit of pink gingham, to remind me of a picnic, and a bit of pear pizzazz under the white. Plus I thought those colors also followed the look of a watermelon!

Now it’s your turn! Be sure to ink up something fun and summery and link up HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today! My posting will be a bit sporadic over the next few weeks. I plan to play along with the Papertrey Ink Stamp-a-faire day this weekend so I will be posting quite a bit then. But then it will be just a post here and there after that for a bit, so please bear with me until I am back to posting on a regular schedule.

Supplies: CS: PTI white and hibiscus burst gingham. SU! pear pizzazz and crumbcake. Stamps: Lawn Fawn happy summer. Inks: SU! old olive, pear pizzaz and melon mambo. Dies: PTI linen impression plate.

Hello Summer...

It’s Monday again but by this time next week we will be half over with summer. What? I know! Summer just got started! And summer is what this post is all about!

I started with the fun sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I dug out this summery paper from my stash and die cut two pierced circles. Then I cut a thin strip of vintage linen cream to separate the patterned circles and to follow the sketch.

I adhered everything to the card base and then added the word “summer”. It may be less like “hello” summer and more like “hey, where are you going” summer! LOL! I added a puffy heart, pearls and enamel dot and was done.
