Vellum Does It...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  It’s a fill in the blank!  My favorite thing to do with vellum is emboss!

#310 10.20.23

I rarely use vellum, but when I do, I like to emboss it.  And then I wonder, why don’t I do this more often?  I started by stamping my image and coloring with alcohol markers.  I die cut the image and a piece of vellum to go over the top.

I embossed the sentiment and then popped the whole thing over some gold thread and added some colored rhinestones.  What is your favorite way to use vellum?

Retro Rubber Challenge 196...

It’s a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s a tic tac toe and I opted for the die cut/pumpkins/stripes.

RRCB 196

I started by stenciling diagonal stripes with Sahara sand on white cardstock.  I die cut the stripes using my mini scallop stitched rectangles.

I stamped the pumpkin in light pumpkin pie and then added the overlay stamp in a darker pumpkin pie.  I stamped the leaf and vine directly on the stripes and then popped up the pumpkin.  I added the sentiment and was done.  The stamps are from my Close To My Heart So Grateful stamp set that I have had for at least 10 years.

Retro Rubber Challenge #75...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s a color inspiration and the challenge image provides a lot of color choices!

RRCB 75

I started with this image from Clearly Gina K Always Autumn from 2014.  I used my colored pencils before adding the sentiment from Papertrey Ink’s Keep It Simple Thanksgiving (2014).

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 75 1 (640x545)

Using the sketch from Paper Craft Crew, I added some white jute ribbon and a couple of pieces of cardstock – early espresso and crushed curry.  The early espresso with the chevron cut outs was one of the scraps that I found that went perfectly with the sketch and color challenge.

I layered everything together and then added a few dots and pearls.

Happy Thanksgiving 2016...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today’s card is courtesy of the Card Concept. I loved their challenge image so I had to play along with a clean and layered card.

I started with a gingham background of soft suede. Then I die cut three sunflowers out of crushed curry and soft suede and added a few garden green leaves.

I adhered everything to the card front and added the sentiment.

Burnt Flamingos...

Hello all! Today’s card was made for two challenges – The Card Concept (inspiration) and RetroSketches (sketch).

I adhered some pattern paper at an angle onto the card base and then stamped the flamingo legs directly onto the pattern paper. After which I popped the flamingos up a bit on the pattern paper. I know that flamingos are traditionally pink but I think these may be on the burnt side of pink since I cut them from some cajun craze paper.

Www.seejanestamp.com rs cc 1 (548x640)

A little bling surrounds the flamingos and the sentiment was placed in the corner to help balance the card.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: PTI rustic cream. SU! cajun craze. Pattern paper. Stamps/Dies: Reverse Confetti fabulous flamingos and dies. Reverse Confetti give thanks. Other: Memento black.

November Pals Blog Hop...

2015badge-2

Welcome to the Pals November Blog Hop, we’re so thankful you stopped by.  This month we’re showcasing projects that feature Stampin’ Up! Thanksgiving and “Thank You” products.  We hope you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or you may have come from the previous blog on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you can enjoy each and every beautiful project.

Welcome! Today I made this fun clean and simple card for you! I started by using one of the Bohemian Borders to create the pattern on the very vanilla cardstock. I opted to use a bit of an ombre effect in my colors by using four dark inks and then four light inks. After stamping, I decided this card could use a bit of texture and instead of using an embossing folder, I pulled out my trusty simply scored scoring board and made a tiny grid pattern.

Www.seejanestamp.com nov blog hop 1 (528x640)

I spotlighted the sentiment made with the washi tape punch by adding a bit of Bermuda bay cardstock on the edges. A bit of silver cording and a mixture of rhinestones, candy dots, and enamel dots add a bit of bling to the card. Although I started off by using traditional Thanksgiving colors, the Bermuda bay brings a bit of an unexpected element to the card and gives it just the zing it needs!
