Retro Rubber Challenge 101...

It’s a new challenge and the last one for the year for Retro Rubber!  As it is the holiday season, we have a fun photo inspiration for you to try!

RRCB 101

I started with a sweet snowman family stamp from Anita’s Stamps from 2002.  I used my SU! markers to color the images and then added a bit of chalk in the background. rrcb 101 1 (640x527)

I stamped the sentiment (Clearly Besotted Message Me 2016) and then die cut with my pierced rectangles.  I layered a couple of pierced rectangles and then adhered on top of a couple of other rectangles.  Everything was run thru the trusty linen impression plate. rrcb 101 2 (640x474)

You may just be starting the blog hop or hopped here from Jan Clothier.

I opted for the balloons, ink smooshing and glitter for my card!  I am using this sweet balloon giraffe from Close To My Heart Balloon Animals from 2016.  I heat embossed it in white on a piece of water color paper. rrcb 100 1 (596x640)

I also heat embossed the sentiment before doing my ink smooshing.  I die cut the watercolor paper, adhered to the card base and added glitter dots and rhinestones. rrcb 100 2 (640x405)

Something about gold makes me think of happy occasions and we are entering the holiday season so it seemed appropriate. hoc nov 2 (640x439)

Retro Rubber Challenge 97...

We are starting a new challenge at Retro Rubber!  It’s a tic tac toe courtesy of Jan Clothier.  I puzzled a bit on this one and finally went for the bottom row of animals, windows and circles.

I rolled the window and circles together by die cutting a stitched circle in the card front that I popped up on the card base. rrcb 97 1 (515x640)

Before adding the card front, however, I stamped this sweet puppy and colored with my pencils.  It is from the SU! Bella & Friends.  This stamp set came out in 2016 and I purchased it as soon as I saw it that year. rrcb 97 2 (640x500)

I added a bit of chalk around the image to ground the little guy and then stamped the sentiment on the card front.  I love the saying and always think of Toy Story when I see it.  And now I am humming the tune.

October Autumn Flowers and or colors

As usual, I did a smidge of both.  I started with a sunflower that I stamped in daffodil delight and peekaboo peach.  I love the depth that I get from the peach ink. hoc oct 1 (597x640)

I added the leaves and the sentiment before drawing a line and dots in the opposite corner to balance the card.  Finally, I ran through the trusty linen impression plate. hoc oct 2 (640x465)

Retro Rubber Challenge 95...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  For this challenge you can use the colors, the images, a school theme or a mix of them.

I went with the school theme when I actually started out planning to use apples.  But I found the fun pattern paper and went with it. rrcb 95 1 (582x640)

I backed some pattern paper with solid cardstock and adhered to the white card base.  Then I used the ABC image from the SU! bookcase builder stamp set from 2017 to stamp a background. rrcb 95 2 (640x513)

I opted for a repeat pattern with different inks and then added some twine across the top.  Just a fun little fact, the surface that I use in my photos is actually an old school desktop complete with pencil tray and ink well (which you can't see).

The Basics For AYSI...

We have a fun new challenge at As You See It!  This challenge is called back to basics – and it is what it says – paper, ink, and stamps.  That’s it!

#184 9.7.18

I love a great clean and simple card.  In my first holiday card of the season, I used green, red and black inks.  Can’t get any more clean and simple than that! aysi 184 1 (595x640)

I stamped the images in the bottom corner to leave all that lovely white space!  On which I would normally use my linen impression plate – but not today! aysi 184 2 (640x564)

September House Of Cards...

Welcome to a new challenge at House of Cards!  As always, we have a fun challenge with making either a birthday card, using the colors or both.

September Birthday theme and or colors

My apologies to my teammates and to you for the late post today!  You know when you wake up in the middle of the night and wonder what day it is?  And then remember you were supposed to have a card made and a post up for today?  Yep!  That was me!  But better late than never! Sept HOC 1 (580x640)

I went for the birthday card with a bit of the colors thrown in.  I dug out some of my funky patterned paper and adhered to a base of white. Sept HOC 2 (640x352)

I accidently shorted the striped piece but I love the result – it adds a bit more something something to the card.  I added the sentiment and then ran the card through the linen impression plate.
