Two For AYSI...

It’s our 200th challenge at As You See It!  This challenge is to use two [things] on a card.  Which is harder than you think!

#200 5.10.19

I used two images, two colors, two twines and twisted the twine twice.  Say that three times fast!  Anyway…I think I met the challenge! aysi 200 1 (584x640)

I stamped the two balloon animals in dapper denim and lemon time twist.  I added the sentiment and the twine and was done! aysi 200 2 (640x347)

Have fun and see what you can do with two!  Link up HERE!

Retro Rubber Challenge 110...

It’s a new challenge at Retro Rubber.  It’s all about flowers!

RRCB 110

I started with this beautiful mums stamp from Rubbernecker Stamps which I have had since 2016.  I stamped the first layer in chocolate chip ink and then added yellow, orange and red to the flower portion of the stamp.  I wasn’t sure what I would get – but it turned out really well. rrcb 110 1 (582x640)

Then I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp’s Birthday Flowers from 2016.  Finally I added a couple of strips of crushed curry and die cut with a stitched die. rrcb 110 2 (640x475)

Then I flagged a couple of scraps of paper and popped them up after adding my sentiment.  I thought it appropriate given my paper! rrcb 109 2 (640x507)

The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Message Me from 2016.  A little bling finishes the card!

I opted for the top row of dies/sparkle/stars.  I die cut several stitched stars out of blueberry bushel, pineapple punch and granny apple green.  A weird combo of food themed paper names! rrcb 107 1 (575x640)

I added the sentiment from my PTI belated birthday sentiments from 2015.  I ran everything through the linen impression plate and then added the bling. rrcb 107 2 (640x337)

Retro Rubber Challenge 106...

A new challenge is afoot at Retro Rubber!  It is time to earn your stripes and use them on a card.

RRCB 106

This card did not turn out anything like when I started.  I was going to stamp the stripes and then ended up with pattern paper instead.  You just have to go with the flow!  I started by die cutting two stitched ovals and stamping the sentiment using my W+9 Strictly Sentiments stamp set from 2013. rrcb 106 1 (541x640)

Then I flagged the ends of the striped paper (it pays to save scraps!), added some gold thread and then adhered everything together.  Finally, I popped up the sentiment and added some gold stars. rrcb 106 2 (640x467)

I used several pieces of washi tape before adding the butterflies.  My sentiment, from PTI Ways to Say Birthday from 2017, is stamped on a washi tape die cut that I popped up for some visual interest.  I finished off with a bit of bling. rrcb 104 2 (640x430)

I also heat embossed the sentiment before doing my ink smooshing.  I die cut the watercolor paper, adhered to the card base and added glitter dots and rhinestones. rrcb 100 2 (640x405)
