Wedding Bells For AYSI...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  It’s a theme challenge to make a wedding card.

#324 5.24.24

My sweet niece is getting married – thus my inspiration for the challenge!  I wanted to use her colors to make this card for her and my soon to be sweet nephew.  I started by die cutting the bride (in white and white linen) and groom (in misty moonlight) and gluing all the pieces together.

I die cut the oval in this lovely green to showcase the bride and groom.  I popped it up over some ribbon and then added the sentiment – which I really had to dig to find.  I think I need some more wedding sentiments!  Happy wedding day!

Retro Rubber Challenge 183...

It’s a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s anything goes!

RRCB 183

I started by stamping a boxwood heart with calypso coral and blushing bride.  The boxwood heart is from The Greetery in February 2021.  I die cut it and then die cut a deco piece so that it can serve as the background.

I die cut love twice to add some depth and then put everything together.  My final two steps were the always and forever from the boxwood stamp set and some bling.   I now have one wedding card should I need it this summer!

Wild For AYSI....

It’s a new challenge at As You See It.  It’s a color challenge to use Bermuda bay, Cajun craze, crushed curry and white.

#232 8.14.20

I started with some new stencils that I just got in the mail and used my three colors to make a bouquet of wildflowers.  I added the stamped bow in Cajun craze before die cutting the card front.

Because the die had cutouts, I added the three colors behind the card front to peak through.  Love it.  Finally, I added a sentiment strip and adhered everything to the card base.

Retro Rubber Challenge #89...

We have a new challenge at Retro Rubber this week and I am playing along!  LOL!  I have missed the last two challenges due to my work schedule.

RRCB 89

I love a tic tac toe challenge and Jan Clothier put together a fun one.  I opted for a diagonal line of romantic occasions, pattern paper and gems.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 89 1 (588x640)

Keeping my card clean and simple, I die cut a piece of pattern paper and added a wedding sentiment from a 2015 Simon Says Stamp set.  A few enamel hearts later, and I popped the paper up on a card base of linen cream.

Going Grey For AYSI...

We have a new challenge at As You See It!  And it’s a fun one!  The challenge is to use shades of grey and complete your card in ten minutes.  As I have several weddings coming up this summer, I used this challenge to get one of the cards done!

#175 5.4.18

I stamped the bridal gown image and then die cut with a mini stitched scallop square.  I cut the soft stone piece down and ran the base of smokey slate, the card front and the mini square thru the linen impression plate.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 175 1 (575x640)

I stamped the sentiment and backed with some smokey slate cardstock die cut using my washi tape dies.  I adhered everything together and was placing the final dot when the bell rang!  It startled me so much I just about ripped the dot back off the cardstock!  LOL!

Anyway, I made it on the dot and you can too!  Link up your card HERE!

Retro Rubber Challenge #66...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  We have a theme challenge and it is all about weddings.  Tis the season after all!

RRCB 66

I started by stamping the church image (from PTI petite places church stamp set circa 2015) in crumbcake and cajun craze and then added the sentiment.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 66 1 (549x640)

I decided at the last minute to add some stenciling as I thought the card needed something else.  And I was rather pleased with the look I achieved.

Stamp-a-faire - Patterns...

Challenge number 2 is the patterns challenge.  We were provided twelve patterns to choose from and make a card.  I chose pattern number 5.

I used a bit of our mood fabric aka patterned paper and added a strip of cardstock to separate the pattern from the white cardstock.

Www.seejanestamp.com pti patterns 1 (548x640)

I die cut the word happy in four colors that I stacked together and made them a bit off center to mimic a little of the ikat pattern.

Stamp-a-faire - Bridal...

Hello!  Today I am joining Papertrey Ink in their fourth annual Stamp-a-faire!  This is my fourth year as well and I look forward to it each and every year!  Things kicked off Friday with a t-shirt challenge which I didn’t do.  But this morning things started at 5 AM my time!  I did not start at 5 AM!!  I got a chance to get started on the first challenge before I had to run and watch my niece play volleyball – way more important!

But I am back now and have completed the first two challenges so I thought I better get these posted before I moved on to challenge number 3.

Www.seejanestamp.com pti bridal 1 (524x640)

The theme this year is Project Runway!  Love it!  Love Project Runway!  The first challenge is the bridal challenge.  I have seen many a failed PR bridal dress so I hope that my card does not end up in the bottom three – ha!  The challenge was to use all white with the only color being a neutral for the ink.

Www.seejanestamp.com pti bridal 2 (640x304)

I stamped the twig wreath in black to create a focal point and then added the die cut bride and groom.  These were die cut several times and then glued together to add some much needed dimension due to all the white.  I added the sentiment and was done.

Off to the next challenge – patterns!

House of Cards Metallics Challenge...

Hello all!  Welcome to August 1st!  It is time for a new challenge at the House of Cards!  Today’s challenge is a word cue challenge – and that word?  Metallics!

This one stumped me for a while because I really wasn’t sure what I could use.  I tried making a card with a metallic finish and it looked awful!  Finally it dawned on me to use some of these sweet Simon Says Stamp card kit papers that have gold on them!

Www.seejanestamp.com hoc metallics 1 (511x640)

So I opted to make a wedding card.  I started off with SU! smokey slate cardstock and cut a sliver off the side so I could add the gold polka dotted paper.  Then I used some of the pretty flower paper and my pierced square die to cut a square so that I could showcase the two gold foil sketchy heart die cuts.  I heat embossed my sentiment in gold and then popped this card front onto another piece of smokey slate.

It’s your turn to give this a try – any type of metallic will do and I bet you are itching to give this challenge a try!  You can link up your creation HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I am off tomorrow and will be back on Monday!

Supplies:  CS:  SU! smokey slate and gold foil.  SSS May card kit papers.  Stamps:  SSS congratulations.  Dies:  MFT pierced square dies.  SSS sketchy heart die.  Other:  SU! gold embossing powder.
