Christmas Stars For AYSI...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  It’s a speed challenge to use stars!

#313 12.1.23

I leaned into the star theme and finished my card in 10 minutes exactly.  I started by running the cardstock thru the linen plate and then the real red and white thru the star spangled impression plate.  I adhered the three layers together.

I die cut the star and cut down a couple of pieces of bitty star paper and then adhered to the white.  I stamped the sentiment, added the gold star and then some enamel stars.  Oof!  My hands were shaking at the end!

Retro Rubber Challenge 220...

It’s a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s a tic tac toe and I opted for frame, snowman and trees.

RRCB 220

I started by die cutting a window frame on the front of the card.  Then I opted to do something a bit different for me by creating the scene on the inside of the card.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 220 1

I stamped the fence and swag before adding and popping up the die cut tree and snowman.  These images are from my Papertrey Ink Fence Line Winter stamp set from 2018.

I added the sentiment (PTI Cozy Christmas 2016) and was done.  I like that the surprise is on the inside of the card!

Christmas For AYSI...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  It’s a theme challenge to make a Christmas card.

#312 11.17.23

I started by die cutting the grid design in white.  I cut a piece of cherry cobbler to go behind the white.  But before I adhered them together, I ran the cherry cobbler through my sheet music impression plate.  It’s hard to see but you can just see the faint outlines of notes and staff.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 312 1

I then stamped the small stable and star.  I added the sentiment and some rhinestones to finish off the card.  Once it was done, I spent considerable time rethinking my color combinations but in the end, I decided to keep them.  To be honest, if I was to redo the card, I would have probably swapped out the stable color to cherry cobbler.  Hmmm…I guess I may not be as satisfied as I thought?  LOL!  Don’t you hate it when you start to second guess yourself?

Retro Rubber Challenge 219...

It’s a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s a fun sketch to try!

RRCB 219

I opted to turn this sketch into a three layered tree.  I die cut the layers out of different pattern papers and an embossed piece.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 219 1

I adhered to the card front, added the greeting and die cut with the deckled edges.  My sentiment came from Papertrey Ink Winter Village from 2016.  Quick, clean and simple – my favorite type of card!

Freezin's Greetings For AYSI...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  We have a recipe challenge to use an embossing folder, holiday, ribbon/twine, die cut and pattern paper.

#311 11.3.23

I stamped and die cut this sweet image and colored using my alcohol markers.  I love using nontraditional colors for holiday cards and this little gal needed a pop or two of color!  I die cut and embossed some bubble bath paper for my backdrop.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 311 1

I stamped the sentiment and then die cut it and some pattern paper to back it.  I added a bit of twine and all of the requirements were satisfied!

Vellum Does It...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  It’s a fill in the blank!  My favorite thing to do with vellum is emboss!

#310 10.20.23

I rarely use vellum, but when I do, I like to emboss it.  And then I wonder, why don’t I do this more often?  I started by stamping my image and coloring with alcohol markers.  I die cut the image and a piece of vellum to go over the top.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 310 1

I embossed the sentiment and then popped the whole thing over some gold thread and added some colored rhinestones.  What is your favorite way to use vellum?

Retro Rubber Challenge 217...

It’s a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s anything goes!

RRCB 217

I am definitely feeling the fall vibes.  I broke out a stamp set that I have owned since it came out in 2021 but never used – Stampin’ Up Gorgeous Leaves.  The leaves really are gorgeous so I stamped them on a crumbcake background that I stamped off once before applying to the card front.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 217 1

I added the sentiment from Papertrey Ink Keep It Simple Blessed (2017) at an angle and then die cut, added some dots and twine and adhered to the card base.  Easy fall fun!

Gone Fishing For AYSI...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  It’s a color challenge to use misty moonlight, copper clay, white, and a neutral.

#309 10.6.2023

I needed a retirement card and just got my gone fishing dies so perfect timing!  I started by stamping a background from my SU! gorgeous leaves stamp set.  I think it’s supposed to be a woodgrain but it is doubling for my water.  I used misty moonlight ink after I stamped it off once.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 309 1

I die cut the bobber three times in white and then once in copper clay (leftover pieces that had been woodgrain embossed).  I layered up the bobber and then added the copper clay on the bottom half and for the hook.  I stamped my sentiment and then ran it through my twisted rope embossing folder.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 309 2

After that I layered the white on some black and then on the misty moonlight base.  I am super happy with the results and also hope the recipient recognizes the fishing tackle.  LOL!

Retro Rubber Challenge 216...

It’s a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s a tic tac toe and I opted for masculine, leaves and die cut.

RRCB 216

I leaned in heavy on using pattern papers for this challenge.  I have been sick with migraines and then I caught the crud and my energy levels are low.  So I am super clean and simple on this card.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 216 1

I die cut papers that coordinated and had leaves on them.  I popped them up over some linen thread and then added the sentiment.  This card works perfectly for my brother’s upcoming birthday.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 216 2

The sentiment is from my Art Impressions Dance It Out stamp set from 2020.
